International Youth Summer Conference
YOU AND I
IN OUR AGE
What can we transform together?
July 13-17,2020 | Georgia
«It is not so much a question of the thoughts that Anthroposophy gives a man, but of what it enables him to do with his thinking» R. Steiner
We appeared in the same epoch, on individual paths.
Who am I?
Who are you?
How can I use my consciousness to find my way to you?
What challenges do we face in different epochs and societies?
Society is made up of you and me. Society in which my individuality and yours do not lose their connection to each other.
What can we transform together?
How can we practice Anthroposophy as a tool for awareness, feelings and actions?
"You and I in Our Age" welcomes you to Georgia, the place where we will meet each other and try to find answers together through lectures, workshops, creative and active performances.
You and I are we - we can create new impulses to transform the future.
The impulse to host an international student conference in Georgia was born in the summer of 2018, when the Georgian Youth Section members participated in the Becoming Human conference in Dornach. THere they performed Goethe’s Faust. As a result, young people representing different European countries – Russia, Latvia, Romania, the Netherlands – came together May 2019 in Tbilisi, to start organising the 2020 summer conference. During an intensive weekend of working together and getting to know each other; of discussing the expectations and aspirations of each member; a team was formed ready to plan the 2020 conference. Thus, the upcoming conference will be the result of the mutual striving of this international group of young people. Participants up until 35 years old (flexible) are warmly welcome.
Places are limited – don’t miss the chance, registration opened already!
Here you can see the general content of our program. You will find the program down below. Please stay tuned!
Impulses of the Past
The first day will focus on the evolving epochs of the past. What lies behind us and how can we understand it? We will take a look at how the ages changed over time and how the social structures and governance were formed.
Day of Thinking - the present time
We will explore and analyse the present time and our age; the space where you and I meet each other. We will portray two evolving paths. The first one is where mankind stands now and the second is the possible evolutionary stage. In this context the consciousness soul will be widely discussed as the new stage of mankind.
We will look at:
◦ Social life
◦ General challenges
Day of Feeling - looking inward
Now it is time to look in ourselves and at the environment where we live - "Schau in dich – Schau um dich". The aim of this day is to make sensible what the relationship between environment and humanity is. From our point of view the main players of our age are youngsters, the generation which has the big duty to care about the world as well as to act responsibly.
The Venus day will consist of two parts:
1. Overview of our (birth) age, where we stand and what the usual spiritual/soul challenges are; the IV (21-28 years) and V (28-35 years) seven years phases;
2. We review the connection that exists between the young generation and society. On the other hand, we will think about how we can be transformed as "WE" without losing our individual identity
Day of Willing-practical applications
The previous days looked at the challenges that our time and individual lives face. Now it's necessary to find the toolkit which will help us to handle those challenges. Social Threefolding will guide us through the age of the consciousness soul. Theoretical knowledge will be transformed into action!
Impulses for the Future
The last day of the conference will be the opposite of the first day and instead of impulses coming from the past, this day will be full of new energy, new thoughts and of course full of the faith and love for future life. We will see what wants to come from the future and exchange/generate initiatives. We will try to build bridges and find ways of connecting to each other.
The speakers will be available soon.
The workshops will be available soon.
